What you’ll be doing:
Willingness and eagerness to learn the core skills such as tools, jobsites, paperwork, cables, and safety.
With training, understands how devices function within the specific systems such as; Fire Alarm, CCTV, Card Access, Sound, and Telecommunications (i.e. can explain functionality when asked)
Has all required tools to perform the job and is proficient and safe with basic tools (i.e. hammer drill, meters, fish tape, saws-all, step ladder, vacuum, extension ladder, toner)
Can determine and install appropriate cable support systems, performs cable set up and pulling.
Performs fire stopping functions.
Labels all cabling.
Removes abandoned cable.
Installs conduit or raceways.
Actively seeks knowledge on codes, standards, and regulations.
Actively learns how to use test equipment.
Prepares wall outlet locations and can punch down jacks.
Can terminate patch panels.
Mounts devices such as keypads, cameras, and card readers as directed.
What you’ll bring to the table:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months’ related experience and/or training are a plus.
Must have a good driving record.
Good troubleshooting and communication skills.
Has the ability to work without direct supervision.
To stand for at least eight to ten hours per day
To walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work overhead
Must frequently lift and/or move at least 25 pounds
