Description
What you’ll be doing:
- Establish and cultivate Supplier relations for the responsible divisions
- Research supply chain options to ensure end-use requirements are met, drive standardization where appropriate, and ensure best value to maximize efficiencies and profitability
- Own the PO process – interact with cross divisional leaders and drive process improvements
- Lead purchasing agent for said products supporting the responsible divisions
- Lead purchasing agent for Prefab Shop, Safety, and Office Supplies
- Assist Tools dept. with tools, vehicles, trailers, and equipment purchases
- Assist Accounting dept. where necessary to effectively solve invoicing issues
- Provide purchasing order numbers to Field Operations team members
- Manage the returns process for said divisions
- Backup to Purchasing Manager where deemed necessary
- Backup and support Field Services Team where deemed necessary
- May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

PROFIT/LOSS
- Works with vendors to obtain best prices, is involved in materials ordered for jobs and the status of those materials
- Approves invoices for payment
- Assists in scheduling and negotiating pricing as necessary
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
- Assists in estimating values according to knowledge of market price

- Ability to exercise sound judgment and confidentiality
- Tactful in their dealings with people using good customer service and interpersonal skills, communicating effectively with co-workers and managers
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships
- Must have experience in the use of a PC and Microsoft Word and Excel software, as well as the Internet
- Good math and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of costs associated with actions performed within their position
- Accurate data entry and proofreading skills
- Ability to work within scheduled deadlines
- Ability to work overtime on occasion is necessary
- Willing to explain, guide and train as opportunities arise
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1+ year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- The employee could occasionally be required to lift and/or move at least 25 pounds. – if lifting 50 pounds you must seek assistance
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
