My role at Suburban is a Detailer. I am responsible for finding new and identifying all potential prefabrication opportunities. Assisting with Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination. Managing the logistics of deliveries to projects. Communicating status of Prefabricated orders to the Superintendents and Project managers.
How long have to you been with Suburban?
I have been working at Suburban for 12 years.
I chose to work here because…
Of the culture, Suburban is a growing company. Yet, we maintain the small family owned atmosphere. That along with the belief of developing people to their highest potential and I can’t think of a better place to be.
How does it challenge you?
Keeping up with the software and all of it’s capabilities. With so many tools to use for Virtually Designed Construction (VDC), coupled with the fact they all work just a little different. It is difficult to keep them all straight. But even those this is a challenge I enjoy it very much, because I get to work on and learn something new every day.
What is your career path?
In the next five years, I would like to be a VDC Manager/Supervisor leading a team of Modeling and Detailers. The Modeling position draws or makes the visual portion that goes to prefab and the detailer gathers all the information the modeler need to do their job. Teams working together for a come goal. To deliver a foreman the perfect day thru prefabrication.
